Summer definitely arrived in London this week and I’ve been spending the past month planning fun and colourful outings ready to take advantage of these longer and hot days. From ideas such as doing little al fresco dining gatherings with friends – such as a picnic in the park or family BBQ are always fun, to being a home tourist and getting out there to discover all those hidden local gems right on our door step.

Colour My Everyday
With today’s Colour My Everyday (lavender); purple – my favourite colour, being the first blog post to inspire us all to (ad)venture more into colourful days this summer. This weekend I went on a lavender field trip with friends and Baz to Mayfield Lavender, just a hours drive from London or you can easily take a train down from Victoria Station. Such a treat experiencing the large fields of lavender and the scent was amazing too.

The beautiful sea of lavender. So candid it was unreal.

Take home some lavender! You can pick a couple of stems to take home or venture into the farm shop and treat yourself to some lavender plants or perfect gifts to give to your friends. Everyone loves getting flowers…especially when it’s unexpected. Mayfield Lavender is such a beautiful place. The smell was sensational too! We walked amongst the lavender, sat and admiring the view made me feel like I was hundreds of miles away from the spirit of everyday busyness. There’s also a cute (farm shop) cafe here too, my life motto: there’s always time for a cuppa and (lavender) scone.
