Planet Pot – Sheffield

Planet Pot, SheffieldPlanet Pot, SheffieldIf you’re anything like me – love being out and about in the city discovering new eateries, things to do and seeing beautiful items in real life then today’s post’s for you. Now that Alice is at the stage where she is keen to discover new things and staying awake longer, I took her to Planet Pot, a quirky independent ceramic cafe up in Fulwood, Sheffield to get our creative juices flowing and for some painting (messy) fun. We really enjoyed decorating our pottery wares with friends, lots of creativity and chatter were in full flow something we should try to do more of daily.

There were plenty of pottery options to paint up from assorted mugs, cereal bowls, plant pots to charming piggy banks and tiles; and fairly priced too. It’s a shop that’s sure to make you happy with all the gems you can find and colour up here! We chose to paint up a heart shaped bowl (a surprise gift for granny) and you can purchase hot drinks and there’s a selection of local cakes/biscuits too. You leave your pots there on the day then pick them up at a later date once they have been in the kiln and varnished up.

The staff were incredibly accommodating especially as we had FOUR BABIES with us too – welcoming service and helpful. Note, this place doesn’t have baby-changing facilities (I changed Alice inside the shop) and the customer toilets are outside. I would certainly recommend this place if you’re looking for something to do with the kids – it’s a perfect little spot for a little pick-me-up for yourself or personalised gifts for those you love.

I would love to hear about your local baby friendly favourites – where do you love eating out with your little one? Are there coffee haunts and places you can’t live without? Please share your family foodie recommendations in the discussions box below, I’d love to hear about them :)
