Craft Bakers’ Week 2014Baking for the Local Community

Bakers from across the country are coming together to tempt people into their bakeries to support Craft Bakers’ Week (), starting on Monday 29th September – 5th October 2014. Where bakers will be fundraising for Make A Wish Foundation and you’ll be encouraged to support your local bakeries.

Craft Bakers’ Week aims to raise awareness of craft baking and encouraging people to visit their local high street bakery. It is an annual campaign that’s supported by the TV Baking Brothers, and – who run high street bakeries in the Cotswolds and are passionate about getting the public to support craft bakers.

The week will see, bakeries across the UK taking part by offering promotions, tastings and workshops, and as well as fundraising for Make-A-Wish Foundation to celebrate and highlight the skill and passion of craft bakers. So, which ‘Real Bread‘ bakeries will be keeping it real for Craft Bakers Week, then? – you can find a list here.

Baking and Eating for a Great Cause
While showcasing a key part of the British high street, Craft Bakers’ Week 2014 will partner with Make-A-Wish Foundation. Bakers throughout the UK will get behind Make-A-Wish’s “Bake-A-Wish” campaign and bake special “Make-A-Wish” buns. We (customers) can support the campaign by buying a “Make-A-Wish” bun with a percentage of the money raised going directly to Make-A-Wish. Customers can support the campaign by buying the buns from their local baker who will be displaying a Make-A-Wish sticker throughout the campaign.

Craft baking is a real skill, catch up with and show some baked love for your local baker! Do have a look on the website to see which bakery near you are participating in the campaign – find out here.
