Whooo hooo, yes one of my many (thousands of) foodie wishes finally came true and I’ve managed to become Sheffield’s Rutland Arms Employee of the Week. This definitely made my week. When the guys from the Rutland Arms tweeted this lovely picture they’d sketched up (see above) I was in awwwweee and a tad jealous too as the little illustration was a fine looking one too! I even challenged and asked some of Sheffield’s creative illustrators/artists such as @watersounds (Sarah Abbot) @TGPBall (Thomas Ball) @RuthEHawke (Ruth Hawke) and @getaloadageo (George Law) to give it a go in beating the Rutty at their fine illustration skills (and I think all four have chickened off :) – so thank you very much Rutland Arms for making me your Employee of the Week – Rutland, was it Andy or Paul who illustrated this? (did you guys study A Level Art? Nice).

I’m sure, if you haven’t done so already, you will tend to find your little Missie Cindz paper cut-outs hanging up all over the place in the pub, either hanging at the bar, jukebox, beer garden or randomly placed on the pub’s interiors. Missie loves her local pub so much that she even has her own permanent location on site – on their outside pub sign! (yes. No joke, see photo above). Did you know you’ll also find the Missie hanging on their website too? I’m truly part of the Rutty Clan now!

If any of you reckon you can beat the Rutland in drawing the Missie Cindz, please feel free to share your little illo with us, post it on my Facebook page so that others can see and share. Plus, you never know, there might even be a really special treat for the best (and most funny) illustration too, afterall, Missie is quite a generous person – we both love to share things. Go on, have a go!

Bradfield Farmers Markets
Yes, it’s that time of the month again when Sheffield’s fantastic bunch of artisan producers gather up with strong enthusiasm to show us how tasty and special they really are, they come toegther to promote themselves as Sheffield Food. Its true when they say “Good Food tastes better when it’s served at home”. So don’t forget to show that empty larder of yours some love today. Sheffield’s Bradfield Farmers’ Market feature over 10 different food stalls and previously when I’ve been, I’m always left spoilt for choice! You’ll see the likes of @teaboxonline @OurCowMolly @MossValley @SheffieldHoney @LornaHeavenlies @JustPreserves and lots more Sheffield others here. The markets are on today from 9am – 3pm.

You might be thinking, “Is it just me, or does it seem like farmers’ markets are popping up everywhere nowadays?” – well, you could be right and surely that’s a good thing right? well, Missie Cindz reckons so and I’ve been really busy fooding around these past few weeks, meeting more new food producers – putting lovely faces to those delicious tweets (my oh my how you all look so very different to your 24px by 24px pixel avatars) and I’m looking forward to meeting and seeing even more food producers in the next coming weeks. All this food adventuring in Sheffield is also proving too delicious to handle and isn’t doing any good to the Missie C’s summer diet (YES, I know, I didn’t think the term ‘diet’ could exist in my dictionary but since I’ve been scoffing my way to a size Sheffield, if those bright frocks are going to be part of Missie’s identity then I better do some compensating! Hehee… Oh well, at least I know I’m doing the ‘See Food!’ diet very well though.

Lots of homemade Sheffield treats and delights available for everyone over at Bradfield – and if any of you go, be kind enough to share your food pictures with me – try the samples on offer – I do like a good snoop.

Have a great ‘tasteful’ weekend everyone! – Cindy/Missie x
