missies pud inn tickets Happy Hour PudInn Tickets

You are invited to attend Missie Cindz’s 'Happy Hour' PudInn Club on Saturday 22nd June in the Rutland Arms

Tickets for #MissiesPudInn are on sale Monday 3rd June! Limited spaces and usually fly out within hours.

You can pop into the Rutland Arms on Brown ST, Sheffield to pick up tickets from 12noon, OR email me to reserve tickets.

It makes me smile, knowing that there’s still SO MUCH interest and support for PudInn club ~ at first I was worried with me relocating to London I’d have to ditch my PudInn events. But there’s still LOTS of interest :) Even though, I’ve experienced a lot of changes in the past few months, I’m still passionate about doing my bit for the Sheffield food scene and community (I always said to my friends, you can take me out of Sheffield but you can’t take the Sheffieldian outta me!)

I look forward to see/meeting new and regular PudInn diners in a few weeks. I (along with the five chefs/bakers) can’t wait to dish up wholesome servings of happy treats for you.

Have a great new week all! Hope it’s full of sweet new discoveries worth remembering – Missie Cindz

Someone recently asked me what’s my favourite thing to eat. I find that to be a really hard question to answer.

Do I pick savoury? {a good Sunday roast with all the trimmings}. Do I pick sweet? {I’d say apple crumble and custard, Victoria Made cakes, rice pudding with a dollop of strawberry jam, but then there’s also ice cream too! ~ oh dear, that’s FOUR!}, or do I pick a type of cuisine? {Japanese and Chinese was my instinct but I do adore Italian food too – that’s three!)….

There are so many amazing foods for all different types foods, and then, there’s also bread. From brioche to Italian loaves to whole wheat rolls to naan, I love it all ~ I couldn’t possibly choose one type! Even baking bread seems magical!

Eating is one of life’s greatest joys, so to answer the question. Why limit yourself? ~ What would you say? What’s your one favourite food?

(It’s really hard to pick just one, right?)

Happy Hour PudInn Club

9 May

missie cindz happy hour pudinn 2 Happy Hour PudInn Club

You are invited to attend Missie Cindz’s seasonal Pud Inn Club on Saturday 22nd June held in The Rutland Arms (upstairs) starting 2.00pm – 4.30pm with a ‘Happy Hour’ {booze} pudding themed menu.

Dessert doesn’t have to mean straightforward cakes, pies or puddings. We will be adding a splash (or two) of liqueur or wine to kick your favorite treat up a notch ~ join me for a sweet afternoon to enjoy a delicious 5 course of treats with spirits made by local Sheffield bakers, pubs, restaurants and Pud Inn diners.

The pudding possibilities are endless; some are more familiar, think of the boozy Italian Tiramisu, Chocolate Guinness Cake and the classic Sherry Trifle – this is not the menu by the way, and you’ll just have to wait until the day to find out what’s on your 5 course puds menu.

Event Details
•    When: Saturday 22nd June (2pm – 4.30pm)
•    Where: Rutland Arms
•    Price: £8 per person
•    NOM size: 25-30 people

This is a ticketed event and places are limited, Pud Inn tickets are £8 per person and will be available to purchase at the bar from Monday 3rd June or via email booking from 7am, and won’t be able to reserve Pud Inn tickets before this date. About Missie’s Pud Inn
Pud Inn’s GREAT! Support your local pub, local bakers, local talent AND brighten the community! What’s not to love!?  It is a friendly and informal afternoon with other pudding enthusiasts from Sheffield and beyond – if you want to come alone and make new friends, that’s fine too. Yes, Pud Inn is rather naughty and it’s unhealthy but I think everyone is allowed a guilty pleasure once in a while – after all – “what’s life without treats!?”.

During the afternoon you have a chance to see familiar faces, give and build a great Sheffield community – something that I believe we should be doing on a daily basis. Even if you don’t know the food producers or bakers involved and don’t know what to expect; it all adds to the Pud Inn experience.

If you missed our last ‘Around the World’ PudInn event you can read about what we got up to right here!

Finally…
If you would like to put your name on our waiting list or to express your interest in future events then please join our mailing list to be kept up to date with my tasteful food adventure or alternatively follow me on twitter and facebook.

Wow, after this write-up I need something sweet! ~ see you all in June ~ Missie Cindz :)

Attracting attention in Sheffield

Raising Awareness through Sheffield Street Art

After a whole week of everyone tweeting about this. I had to see it myself  – local talented (amazing) street artist, Faunagraphic does it again with a mural of Sheffield-born and raised Harry Brearley, discoverer of stainless ‘rustless’ steel. Painted on the wall of the Howard Hotel close to the Sheffield train station, and you really do have to see the mural in real-life to truly appreciate the artwork and attention to detail.

One thing that always blows me away about Sheffield is the vast amount of street art that has been painted around. In the past few years, I’ve discovered to admire what street artists do ~ as creatives, artists and designers it’s important to communicate in a way that makes people think deeper, feel deeper. I’ve been a fan of Faunagraphic’s work for some time now, and what I like about her artwork is that it promotes a sense of place and an environment of longevity, growth, and spiritual well-being – I’m captured into her world of ‘ a better place‘ fusing wildlife and fine art in her work.

Via street art we can discover something new, I discovered that Harry Brearley was the founder of Stainless Steel (and I thought I knew a lot about Sheffield!).

Get inspired by more of Faunagraphic’s work here. Also, check out the amazing time-lapse video by Richard Bolam, who recorded the entire process of the Harry Brearley mural here.

Good Everyday Notes Worth Eating

The 365 Notes Challenge aims to provide inspiration, and a motivator to keep us all discovering new things

Page/Day 78: Haters Gonna Hate

What would happen if most people actually followed my #Cindy365Notes ‘Note a Day’ challenge instead of just clicking “like” on Instagram or re-pinning?

How would our society and local community change if; you, me, business owners, job centres, recruitment agencies and schools posted these recommendations, ate a page and then operated accordingly? Of course the best thing about notes and making lists is crossing things off – putting words into action! So c’mon, let’s commit to putting some of these notes into practice – I intend to!

Pages worth highlighting (up to day 94)

At the beginning of the year, I gave myself a challenge, that in every day in 2013, I would write a note of day and post it on my instagram and pinterest. I could write down anything but only had two rules: 1) they had to be handwritten words/doodles meaningful to me in my Missie Cindz notebook and 2) I must call to action these pages sometime during 2013. I wanted to do this because we all need a dose of self-stimulant as a motivator to keep us all discovering new things.

I hope my challenge encourages you to stay hungry and keep learning. Although you might’ve already done some of these notes (activities) in your lifetime, it’s time to do some of these AGAIN! – Missie Cindz

(I’ve posted up these photos on Instagram. Follow @missiecindz to find out more, and hashtag #Cindy365Notes to join).

Sheffield Ate Up All the Pies

25 Mar

missie cindz pie and peas up Sheffield Ate Up All the Pies

Enjoyed a great hearty night in with homemade pie, peas, quiz and lovely locals

It’s been hearty pies all round at Honey Pie Tearooms this evening in aid of St Luke’s Hospice Sheffield.

Being a big fan of the traditional British pie, it would’ve been against my Sheffield food religion if I didn’t show support for ‘The Great Pie and Peas Up’ campaign with St Luke’s Hospice, a deliciously creative fundraising campaign to raise money for the St Luke’s in-patient unit.

The tasty campaign throughout March encouraged and invited the people of Sheffield to host their own Pie Night, asking their diners for donations. I was invited by Janine Morrall and Shaun (two colourful locals I have met through Pud Inn, who I’m now happy to call friends) to come along and indulge in homemade delights including meat and potato pie with own made mushy peas followed by rhubarb pie and custard. Delicious. We all sat cosily with plate loads of goodness whilst passing around special bottles of Henderson’s bearing the Pies and Peas Up mark – Splashingly good stuff!

Big thanks to our hosts for the evening, Janine and Shaun, Jo Hardiman and everyone at Honey Pie Tearoom for the tasteful tea room surroundings. The delicious evening along with huge generous donations for a Sheffield raffle raised a total of £291.70 for St. Luke’s Hospice.

Generous donated raffle prizes included: Thornbridge Brewery, Honey Pie Tearoom, Hush Beauty Salon, Victoria Roberts, The Rutland Arms, New Barrack Tavern, Our Cow Molly, Wigs & Warpaint, and not forgetting Janine Morrall who will be babysitting for Skippy O’ Sheffield and Adele Guy <— now who said community spirit was dead!?

I’m currently feeling happy to had been amongst the thousands of people who would’ve sat down to have pie and peas this month in aid of St Luke’s. A Life of Pie is certainly good stuff! – Missie Cindz x
