Missie Cindz – Wentworth Garden Centre

I took the recommendation from @TripsWithATot’s Blog and took Alice for our first day out at Wentworth Garden Centre (WGC) in Rotherham and what a wonderful hidden gem it is! A venue with beautiful landscaped gardens, extensive range of plants & giftware and a humongous gift shop brimming full of Yorkshire & foodilicious goodies! They had just opened their Christmas gift shop too so currently it’s well stocked up with some of the BEST selection of festive decorations (I can’t believe it’s that time of year again!) – and I’m not usually one for Christmas browsing this early but wow, I was really impressed, WGC do it so well, you’re in for a treat if you love all things Christmas!

The historic walled garden is absolutely beautiful and well maintained, you do have to pay a small fee to go in: £1.50 for adults (free for under 2’s) and £1 for seniors, but if you save your receipt, you can re-enter as many times as you like on that day. There’s also a family farm too (again, a small charge for entry), with covered play area in the farmyard and you can easily spend a few hours there – Alice napped whilst we were here so she missed out on the animals and we didn’t go in to have a look. The main restaurant was super busy, loud with long queues, so we missed out on lunch at the restaurant but as an alternative, we treated ourselves to cream tea from the farm shop which had some lovely homemade cakes, snacks and drinks. I had one of their signature freshly baked fruit scone with THAT clotted cream & jam and it was SO good! (well worth every calorie!).

There’s free parking which is a bonus, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with baby change facilities and easy access to all areas with a pram which gets brownie points too!

Baby-friendly Recommendations
I love to go out and about on adventures in London, South Yorkshire and beyond with my (almost) one year old, Alice Autumn. It can be tedious and hard work being stuck indoors with your little ones, so I like to use this blog to share with you what I get up to with Alice (see Trips with Alice). Comment down below as I would LOVE to hear your baby-friendly London-based restaurants and day trip recommendations with your LOs too :)
