Just incase you thought that my ‘Shop Small Advent Calendar’ had been on the quiet side, I’ve been sharing daily finds via Instagram & Twitter. Today’s blog post is a little update on the third week in the #‎MissiesSocialCalendar (this year’s take on the Advent Calendar)‬.

A quick recap of my new independent finds and buys so far this week:

1. An alternative Christmas lunch // Stick N Sushi, Covent Garden
2. (Best) Mince Pies (in Britain) from Konditor and Cook3. Christmas cocktails and toilet adventures // Sketch Bar
4. Pasta and Pizza date // Princi Italian Bakery
5. Afternoon Tea for a colleague’s birthday // Soho Secret Tea Room
6. Weekend Market exploring stuffing our faces!! // Greenwich Market
7. Mini pancake treats // Planet Pancake
8. Korean/Japanese Street Food // Teriyaki-Ya
9. A not-so-boring wrap // Gourmand Flatbread
10. Beef Tortilla Burger from Tortilla’s Home

The line-up changes daily at Greenwich Market but, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays, you will find a small cluster of street-food stars dishing-up here; you can easily find yourself eating around the world in one indulgent afternoon (we did!). We came here for lunch to treat ourselves and we wasn’t disappointed! Starting from Korean/Japanese street food snacks such as tasty fried chicken, appetising teriyaki salamon bento boxes and veg tempura from Teriyaki-Ya (where you’ll see the chef skinning the fish and cooking it in-front of you); Spanish tortilla filled burgers from Tortilla’s Home; own-made flat bread with a choice of really delicious, good quality toppings from Gourmand Flatbread, and rounding off lunch with a treat (of course) – mini pancakes topped with strawberries and Belgium white chocolate from Planet Pancakes (a great new London find).

It’s not just all about the food at Greenwich Market. There are also plenty of unique, lovely gifts from handcrafted jewellery, arts and craft stalls, bespoke sign makers and clothing. Well worth a mooch.

Everyone going on about how good the cocktails are at Sketch Bar but what about the bathrooms!?!? Went to the loo in an egg with the sound of frogs inside! Never thought I’d say that! ~ it was bonkers! And finally gifts of warm Konditor and Cook mince pies and smiles are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas! These literally melted in the mouth and, unlike a lot of mince pies, they are not too sweet or too heavy.

So there you have it, week 3 into my Social Advent Calendar – let’s see what’s in store this final week before Christmas. Let the new (small) finds and eats continue!  Missie Cindz x

Missie’s Shop Small Advent Calendar is a whimsical Christmas challenge I’ve created simply spreading the message to support our local shops and small traders during this festive season. EVERYDAY’S one big adventure, so let’s discover something new!
