28 Days of Kindness (Day 5)

28 Days of Kindness – Day 5One small, thoughtful gesture can make someone else’s day…

28 Days of Kindness | Day 5

  • Showed some kindness to myself today and did something to treat myself. Selfish? not really. Due to the tube strike, I took an alternative, much longer route (walk) into work this morning, I didn’t let the tube strike affect my mood. The new route actually relaxed my mind and refreshed the body (walking’s a great way of exercising and discovering new places in Central London). At the same time, I managed to take a quick break to grab a cup of coffee at a new coffee shop I discovered near Chancery Lane, Dept of Coffee and Social Affairs (a great name, I know). In the evening, I  also picked up one of my favourite tea-time snacks on the way home from work. We should all take note to be kind to ourselves in whatever shape or form, you should do it!! [✓]
  • Called Auntie Tracey and Auntie Lisa (the traditional way) with a phone call on the way home to thank them for their generous Chinese New Year lai see (lucky money bag). We should aim to become grateful individuals and try to make it a habit to thank the people who touch our life, even for the little things. When we let others know we appreciate them or something they’ve done for us, we are letting them know how grateful we are that they are in our life. Cheers Aunt Trace! [✓]
  • A big get well soon to my lovely friend, Clare (twitter: @PinkLittleBean), who currently in hospital. Wishing you a speedy recovery and despite her being ill, Clare still showed signs of immense kindness by tweeting me to pass along a great book (see photo below) once she’d finished reading it. (thank you)
