The different stages involved in creating a printed magazine

It’s true when they say, “Everyday’s a School day”….

I was thrilled earlier this week to be commissioned by Sheffield’s Sync City Magazine to concept and design their exciting FIRST issue. I have always wanted to put together a deliciously looking and useful publication for Sheffield. I am very pleased, and for those interested in the print and publishing industry, I’m hoping to show you the whole creative process of creating the magazine over on my Cindy Cheung design blog here.

I will go through what I do, how and why, layouts/thumbnails and share my frustration with you when things don’t go according to plan and sneaky page peeps too. Hopefully you’ll find all this interesting and good to learn too!? – especially those who are new to the print industry. The diagram illustrated above, shows you the creative and design stages I’ll have to go through. Magazine design – it’s more than just layouts!!

I hope you’ll enjoy following my design experience. If you have any questions, comments or advice to share, please do leave a message in the comments below – Missie/Cindy
