The weekend is fast approaching and if you’re stuck for ideas on what to do in Sheffield, here’s some suggestions to fill those hunger pangs – just make sure you don’t spoil your appetite!…

Missie Cindz Chocolate Pud Inn at The Rutland Arms
Saturday 23rd June. Our pudding event starts at 2pm – 4.30pm serving diners a delicious five course of local puddings especially made for our event by enthusiastic local bakers and chefs. “What’s on the menu I hear you cry?” – well, we don’t tend to release the pudding menu until the day of the event (9am posted on this blog) as we think it’s rather nice to keep the element of surprise to our fellow diners. One clue: it looks choctastic!

Because places are limited, this is a ticketed event and all places have now been filled (so please don’t turn up to the event without a ticket/or if you haven’t registered). If you did want to join us for puds, I’m sorry you wasn’t able to purchase a ticket, but don’t worry – I’m already planning our next Pud Inn – to be in September!

If you would like to put your name on our waiting list or to express your interest in future events then please join our mouthwatering mailing list to be kept up to date with all of our tasteful food adventures or alternatively follow me on twitter or facebook.

Heeley Festival 2012
This year’s event will be on Saturday 23rd June and, as usual, promises something for everyone. The festival’s opening parade will begin at 11.30am at The Institute on Gleadless Road – where you can join for a noisy and colourful opening procession as it winds its way through the park to kick off proceedings at 12 noon. Everyone can join in, and to celebrate this year’s Olympics theme.

Over at Heeley City Farm, you can browse the Farmers’ Market featuring fresh local produce and handmade crafts from independent Sheffield suppliers, coo over the baby animals including pygmy goats, soay lambs and piglets, and enjoy wholesome homemade food from their Farm Kitchen. I’ve also been told that there will be live punk and ‘world’ music. There seems to be something going on to suit all tastes. Let’s just hope the rain subsides but even if it doesn’t there seems plenty to do and to see.

You can find more information about the event here: It’s happening in Heeley > a community website for sharing things about Heeley, Meersbrook and Lower Arbourthorn, Sheffield.
