Re-imagining the World One Mouthful at a Time . . . . .

Rutland Arms Twitter Competition Saturday

16 September 2011

If you didn’t know already, this Saturday (17th September) will be my first Pudding Club in The Rutland Arms. We’re looking forward to serving attendees five delicious ‘favourite’ puddings which will range from sticky toffee pudding served with homemade custard – especially made for us by The Rutlands head-chef, Chef Ricko (twitter: @rutlandarmschef) through to my ‘favourite’ Chinese dessert, sweet red bean soup served with peanut mochi (please don’t be put off by the name, it’s delicious!).

Mochis are asian rice cakes made of soft and extremely sticky glutinous rice paste. The mochi rice cakes I’ll be serving are filled with a sweet peanut paste. The full puddings menu will be revealed LIVE on twitter and Missie’s Facebook page Saturday (tomorrow) morning, from 9.00am for you all to salivate over – I hope those who have managed to purchase tickets will enjoy the five puddings line-up I have in-store for you.

If you’re not a Sheffield resident, we will send you your gift card for you to redeem whenever you decide to visit us :)

The Rutland Arms is located near the Showroom cinema, on the corner of Brown Street but at the heart of what Sheffield calls its Cultural Industries Quarter. With its shiny brown and yellow tiles giving it a faintly Art Deco look this cosy little pub with an excellent selection of real ales usually from the local breweries of Sheffield (including the Blue Bee Brewery) and Yorkshire, all these qualities made The Rutlands my ideal place to hold my Pudding Clubs. Puddings washed down with a pint is the new fish & chips if you didn’t know! :) I’m a big fan of their food too, especially their Rutland ‘made with love’ burger, their ham hock pork pie with an awesome runny Scotch egg are a chef’s godsend, both meals are served with EPIC chips as you can see from the picture (one lucky food winner is certainly in for a treat!) and they do cakes, the Rutland Brownies are well spoken of by the Twitterati. Their food has an excellent reputation, freshly cooked with quality ingredient. You’ll find their food menu online here: The Rutland’s Food Menu

Make sure you get RT-ing. See you at the Pudding Club! (4pm – 6pm at The Rutland Arms).
