Hey, I’m not just storytelling…

So yesterday Missie C finally got herself some amazing food at The Great Gatsby – Division ST. Yes, please do believe the hype and talk about Sheffield’s latest tasty place. It’s hard to miss their tasteful and beautifully decorated interiors – think Art Deco fused with Cubism. The Great Gatsby is a prime cocktail bar with a wide selection of beers and a good relaxed vibes. Neat looking typographical wall vinyls, polished furnishings, an amazing looking bar and very quirky illustrated artwork oozing with Mr Nick Deakin‘s signature on them (after all, he did ‘Art Direct’ this place) added to the whole ‘wow-ness’. I’ve not seen a place in Sheffield with such strong characteristics in a long time – it was really good to get down and meet the people behind it all and enjoy the relaxed vibes too.

Their food new ‘Spring’ food menu was launched this week (food’s served from 12-8 everyday) and you can view their menu on their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/gatsbysheffield – you’re all going to be spoilt for choice, I was. With food ranging from venison burgers, steak sandwiches to posh nosh fish fingers all served with homemade crisps and house salad. If you’re on a summer diet, ditch it :) because it looks so good.

The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and always prompt in making sure everything was OK. I was lucky enough to meet Nick, again, twice in a row? I do wonder if the man thinks I’m stalking him (with my fork) and will I randomly bump into him again today? Nick was hard grafting at the bar (see picture above), writing up the Gatsby’s weekend cocktail menu, so whilst I was busy stuffing my face on their ‘Posh fish finger’ butty with delicious pea mayo (see picture above) – I also had the lovely view of Mr Deak’s backside! (every girls dream I’m sure :)

Has anyone else been in and hi-fived these guys? please do let me know what you thought of the place and especially their food (Twitpic your meal at me?). I didn’t have time to try their dessert menu. A fab reason to visit again – please make sure there’s cake in Gatsby when I do.

I recommend everyone goes to try their new food menu! (or definitely, at least make sure you enjoy a drink or two to check out their ‘well thought out’ decor). Thanks for my lunch Gatsby. Hi-Five!
